We highly recommend printing out these directions -- they are the quickest, prettiest, and most efficient -- as GPS and maps often do not provide the best local routes.
To get specific directions from your location, use GOOGLE MAPS
From New York:
Take the New York Throughway (I-87) and get off at exit 28 (Schroon Lake and Ferry exit) onto Rt 74 East going to Paradox and Ticonderoga. At Ticonderoga take Rt 22/9N north to Crown Point (following signs to the ferry). The ferry at Crown Point runs 24/7 about every 10-15 minutes and is free. Getting off the ferry you will be on Rt 17 East going to Addison. At Addison turn left onto Rt 22 to Vergennes, a charming Vermont town. (As you may notice, the short trip from the ferry to Vergennes takes you through the heart of the fertile, fummey, farmland of the Champlain Valley!) From Vergennes take Rt 7 North to Shelburne and on to Burlington. Just before Burlington proper (at this point Rt 7 is a busy boulevard of car dealers, restaurants, etc.,) you will see large green overhead interstate exit signs for I-189 (just after the Country Curtains store/house on the right) for I-189. Turn right onto I-189 (which is a by-pass around Burlington), stay right, and in about ¼ mile take a quick right onto I-89 South towards Montpelier. Travel on I-89 South about 7-8 miles and get off at exit 11 (Richmond exit) then follow the Exit 11 directions below.
At Exit 11:
Get off at Exit 11 (Richmond Exit), turn left at the end of the curved ramp onto Rt. 2 (note - this will be a right turn onto Rt 2 if you are coming from Boston, New Hampshire, Western Mass., etc., since you are exiting I-89 going north instead of south from upstate NY or Burlington), and go about 100 yards to the stop light. Turn right at the stoplight (Rt. 117) and then take an immediate right (about 15 yards) onto Governor Peck. Follow Governor Peck until it ends at Brown's Trace Road. Turn left onto Brown's Trace Road and follow Brown's Trace Road for about 5 miles (through the hamlet of Jericho Center) until Brown's Trace Road ends at Route 15 (Clark's Truck Center will be on the left). Turn right and travel just under a mile to the Sinclair Inn. Look for a big green and white Victorian (#389) and our sign on the left side of the road.
Note: If you miss the quick turn onto Governor Peck and remain on Rt 117, just keep going for about 2 miles until you get to Barber Farm Road (just after the green sign pointing to Mt. Mansfield Union High School). At Barber Farm Road there will be a stop sign and a farm house with giant steel sculptured dragons! Turn right onto Barber Farm Road and go 2-3 miles where it ends at Brown's Trace Road. Turn left onto Brown's Trace Road, go into Jericho Center, etc., as above. This is an especially pretty drive and watch out for deer!
From New Hampshire and Boston:
Take Interstate-93 to Interstate-89 to Exit 11. Follow directions from Exit 11 as above.
From Montreal:
Interstate-89 to Exit 11. Follow directions from Exit 11 as above.
From Western Mass.:
Interstate-91 to Interstate-89 North to Exit 11. Follow directions from Exit 11 as above.
From Burlington Airport:
When you leave the Burlington Airport, stay left and turn left at the "Y" junction stop sign onto Airport Drive. Follow Airport Drive a short distance to the traffic light at Williston Road (also Route 2). Turn right onto Williston Road and go towards Burlington for several miles. At the Interstate 89 junction sign take I-89 South towards Montpelier. Go about 9 miles on I-89 and get off at Richmond Exit 11. Follow directions from Exit 11 as above.
